The Bishop of Malakal Diocese has, on October 4, 2022, urged Caritas South Sudan to focus on three (3) principals of serving human life, promoting the sustainability of the most vulnerable and be the voice for the voiceless across the Country as they launched their strategic plan for the period 2022-2026.
Speaking during the launch, Bishop Stephen Nyodho Ador stated that the activities of Caritas in South Sudan have shown the important of sacrifice on behalf of one another.
“The activities of Caritas are based on three main principles: to serve human life in the moment of emergency, to promote sustainability of the most vulnerable, and finally to be the voice for the voiceless that is the defense for the poor and the needy.”
Bishop Stephen said they are grateful to Caritas South Sudan for supporting the vulnerable people because thousands of people are vulnerable under the mercy of God due to climate change and economic crises in the Country.
“Due to climate change, political and economic crises in our Country, thousands of our people are today vulnerable under the mercy of God. In this situation, we are grateful to Caritas South Sudan and our partners for the humble services rendered to the people of God in different locations.”
“Despite the scarcity of resources, Caritas of South Sudan has proved to be the loving mother who supports the vulnerable people,” Bishop Nyodho stressed.
“Despite the scarcity of resources South Sudan has proved to be the loving mother who days and night and the unbearable situations try to lead, try to defend, and try to take care of our children.”
Rt. Rev. Nyodho called on the supporting partners of Caritas South Sudan to continue supporting for the sake of the vulnerable people of South Sudan.
“We sincerely call upon on our loving partners and the friends of Caritas South to continue with their support to this office for the sake of the vulnerable of this Country.”
He also appealed to the national office of Caritas South Sudan and the Diocesans’ offices to continue with the spirit of responsibility and cooperate with their partners.
“We kindly appeal to the Caritas National office and our Diocesan offices to continue manifesting with the spirit of responsibility and cooperation and friends I wish that this strategic plan finds support so that it comes into fulfillment for the good of the Church and the people of God.”
In the new strategic plan of Caritas South Sudan, the Executive Director Mr. Gabriel Nyai explained that they will work with integral human development which will deal with the needs of the community, resources mobilization and networking, humanitarian preparedness and respond as well as effective communication and advocacy among others.
